Apr 16, 2018C. — Mrs. Mary Katherine Wyer Pernell, 82, died Thursday, March 29, 2018.The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel. Burial will take place in Pinewood Memorial Park.Mrs. Pernell, a native of West Virginia, had been a resident of Greenville since 1969. She was employed with Procter & Gamble for 18 years.Preceded in death by husband, Lyle Edward Pernell; parents, Kenneth M. and Mary E. Ball Wyer; and sister, Delores Jean Wyer King.She is survived by son, Sheldon Edward Pernell and wife, Angie, of Alexandria, KY; two daughters, Sherry Pernell, of Greenville, and Janice Pernell, of Snow Hill; four grandchildren, Erin Williams Anderson and husband, Brent, John Michael Williams, Karen Pernell Williams and husband, Kevin, and Randall Edward Pernell; great-granddaughter, Evelyn Alexis Williams; two stepgreat-grandchildren; brother, Kenneth J. Wyer; and beloved canine companion, Lucy.Visitation will be held Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Wilkerson Funeral Home.The family would like to extend their appreciation and thanks to the staff and physicians on 3 EAST and in Palliative Care at Vidant Medical Center.
